How To Setup Yandex Mail Outlook Settings?

Yandex Mail Outlook Settings

You can access your Yandex Mail account in email clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Apple Mail. Your email account needs to be configured using the correct server settings, otherwise, you cannot send/receive emails from your Yandex account.

The Yandex Mail Outlook settings are given here for your reference.

Incoming mail server - Use either IMAP or POP.

Yandex Mail IMAP settings

  • Step : 1 Account type - IMAP
  • Step : 2 IMAP server name - imap.yandex.com
  • Step : 3 IMAP port - 993
  • Step : 4 SSL/TLS required - Yes

Yandex Mail POP settings

  • Step : 1 Account type - POP3
  • Step : 2 POP server name - pop.yandex.com
  • Step : 3 POP port - 995
  • Step : 4 SSL/TLS required - Yes

Outgoing mail server - SMTP

  • Step : 1 Yandex Mail SMTP settings
  • Step : 2 Account type - SMTP
  • Step : 3 SMTP server name - smtp.yandex.com
  • Step : 4 SMTP port - 465
  • Step : 5 SSL required - Yes

Basic account information

  • Step : 1 Username/Email Address - Your Yandex email address
  • Step : 2 Password - Your Yandex email password

Enable IMAP or POP 

Before configuring the Yandex Mail Outlook settings, check if you have enabled the POP or IMAP feature in your Yandex Mail account. For this, perform the steps provided below.

  • Step : 1 Access your Yandex Mail account from your browser.
  • Step : 2 At the upper-right corner, click the gear icon.
  • Step : 3 Select the All Settings option.
  • Step : 4 Click the Email clients tab in the left panel.
  • Step : 5 In the main panel, select one of the following options.
  • Step : 6 From the imap.yandex.com server via IMAP
  • Step : 7 From the pop.yandex.com server via POP3
  • Step : 8 Note: By default, the IMAP feature is enabled.
  • Step : 9 After choosing your preferred account type, click the Save Changes button.

  • Step : 1 Open Microsoft Outlook 2010 and click File -> Info.
  • Step : 2 Navigate to the Account Settings menu and choose Account Settings.
  • Step : 3 When the Account Settings screen appears, click New in the Email tab.
  • Step : 4 On the Add New Account screen, select the manual configuration method.
  • Step : 5 In the Choose E-mail Service window, choose the Internet E-mail option and click Next.
  • Step : 6 Fill the following fields with the Yandex Mail Outlook settings and click More Settings.
  • Step : 7 Your Name - Your display name
  • Step : 8 E-mail Address - Your Yandex email address
  • Step : 9 Account Type - POP3 or IMAP
  • Step : 10 Incoming mail server - pop.yandex.com (POP3) or imap.yandex.com (IMAP)
  • Step : 11 Outgoing mail server (SMTP) - 
  • Step : 12 User Name - Your Yandex email address
  • Step : 13 Password - Your Yandex email password
  • Step : 14 Select the checkbox beside the Remember password and Test Account Settings by clicking the Next button options.
  • Step : 15 Click the New Outlook Data File radio button.
  • Step : 16 When the Internet E-mail Settings window pops up, navigate to Outgoing Server.
  • Step : 17 Select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication option.
  • Step : 18 Now, click the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button.
  • Step : 19 Under the Advanced tab, enter the correct port numbers in the appropriate fields.
  • Step : 20 Once done, click OK -> Next -> Finish.
  • Step : 21 You have now finished the email setup using the Yandex Mail Outlook settings.
