How To Perform Lycos Mail Outlook Setup?

Lycos Mail is an email service that allows you to configure your email account using the POP or IMAP settings in any email client. The Lycos Mail Outlook setup is quite simple and easy if you follow the quick steps given below.

  • On your computer, launch Microsoft Outlook by double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop.
  • Click the File menu available at the top-left corner and select the Info option from the left-side panel.

  • Next, click the Add Account button and enter your Lycos email account details such as email address and password in the required fields.

  • Click the Next button and wait for Outlook to configure the Lycos Mail automatically.
  • You have now seen the Lycos Mail Outlook setup.
  • If you wish to configure the POP or IMAP account manually, select the Manual setup or additional server types option and click Next.

  • Choose the POP or IMAP option and click Next.

  • You have to fill in the User Information, Server Information, and Logon Information sections on the POP and IMAP Account Settings page.
  • Under User Information, give your email account a name and fill the Email Address field with your Lycos email address.
  • Under Server Information, choose either POP or IMAP as your account type from the drop-down menu.
  • Enter ‘pop.mail.lycos.com’ in the Incoming mail server field if you have selected POP as your account type.
  • Otherwise, enter ‘imap.mail.lycos.com’ in the Incoming mail server field for the IMAP account.
  • Enter ‘smtp.mail.lycos.com’ in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field and move on to the Logon Information section.
  • Type your email address in the User Name field and your Lycos mail password in the Password field.

  • Click the More Settings button and move on to the Outgoing Server tab.
  • Select the checkbox and radio button to authenticate the outgoing server.

  • Head to the Advanced tab and configure the server ports and encryption type for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

  • Click OK and return to the previous page to select the Test Account Settings option.

  • Wait until the server settings are verified automatically.
  • Click Next and select Finish to complete the Lycos Mail Outlook setup.
