- On your Android phone’s Applications screen, choose the Mail icon.
- On the screen that displays, enter your email address and password. Then, tap on the Manual Setup button.
- On the next screen, select IMAP.
- Since you have selected the IMAP Account in the previous step, make sure that you type in the following information. Then, tap on the Next button.
- In the IMAP Server field, type in imap.mail.lycos.com to continue with the Lycos Mail on Android setup.
- The Security type field should be set to None.
- The usual Port number will be 143. The following are the Secure and Insecure Port numbers for IMAP:
- The Secure – Port is 993 and its Security Type will be SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates).
- The Insecure – Port will be 143 and its Security Type should be set to None (Accept all certificates).
- After you tap on the Next button, ensure that you enter the following outgoing SMTP details. Then, tap on the Next button.
- The SMTP Server must be smtp.mail.lycos.com.
- The Security type should be set to None.
- The usual Port number will be 25. The general SMTP Port settings are as follows:
- The Outgoing (SMTP) Secure – Port should be 465 and its Security Type must be set to SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates).
- The Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Secure – Port has to be 587 and its Security Type should be set as SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates).
- The Outgoing (SMTP) Insecure -- Port has to be 25 and its Security Type must be set to None (Accept all certificates).
- The Outgoing (SMTP roaming server) Insecure – Port has to be 587 and its Security Type should be set to None (Accept all certificates).
- Once you have clicked on Next, tap on the Done button.
- You are now ready to use your Lycos Mail on Android phone.
