- Step : 1On your Windows computer, launch the Outlook 2016 app.
- Step : 2Once launched, click the File tab available at the top-left corner of the screen.
- Step : 3Navigate to the left-side panel and click the Info tab.
- Step : 4Click the Add Account button underneath Account Information.
- Step : 5Next, enable the Manual setup or additional server types radio button and click Next.
- Step : 6Select the POP or IMAP option and click the Next button.
- Step : 7Under User Information, type a name for your account in the Name field and enter the IONOS email address in the Email Address field.
- Step : 8Under Server Information, select the IMAP option from the Account Type drop-down menu.
- Step : 9In the Incoming Mail Server field, enter ‘imap.ionos.com’ as the incoming mail server name.
- Step : 10Enter ‘smtp.ionos.com’ in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
- Step : 11Under Logon Information, enter your IONOS email address in the Email Address field and type its password in the Password field.
- Step : 12Click the More Settings button and jump to the Outgoing Server tab.
- Step : 13Select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox and enable the radio button under this checkbox.
- Step : 14Switch to Advanced tab and enter the port number ‘993’ in the Incoming server field if you wish to use SSL settings.
- Step : 15Select SSL from the drop-down menu.
- Step : 16Enter ‘465’ or ‘587’ in the Outgoing server (SMTP) field.
- Step : 17After verifying whether you have entered correct port numbers, click the OK button.
- Step : 18Click the Test Account Settings button and wait until the email setup verification is completed.
- Step : 19Once finished, click the Next button and select Close.
- Step : 20Now, you can access your IONOS email settings in Outlook 2016 instead of accessing the webmail.
