Em Client Spam Filter

eM Client is one of the desktop email clients that can manage multiple email accounts under a single platform. eM Client offers Spam Filter, a default spam filtering rule, to take on suspicious messages and move them to the Junk Email folder. In the eM Client app, you can create and manage your rules. However, you cannot alter the Spam Filter rule because it the default one. To enable or disable the Em Client Spam Filter, go through the steps given below.

  • Step : 1 On your Windows computer, launch the eM Client app by double-clicking its shortcut icon on the desktop.

  • Step : 2 If there is no shortcut icon, click the Start menu at the bottom-left corner and type ‘eM Client’ in the search panel.
  • Step : 3 Double-click the eM Client app in the search result.
  • Step : 4 In the eM Client app, click the Menu tab at the top.

  • Step : 5 Select the Tools option followed by Rules from the drop-down list.

  • Step : 6 Now, the Rules window opens.
  • Step : 7 Select the Spam Filter checkbox in the Rules window and click the Apply button.

  • Step : 8 You have now enabled the eM Client Spam Filter rule. Henceforth, spam emails will be moved to the Junk Email folder automatically.
  • Step : 10 If you have created some other rule for blocking spam messages, you should disable the default Spam Filter. For that, access the Rules window first.
  • Step : 11 Deselect the Spam Filter checkbox and click the Apply button.
  • Step : 12 Close the Rules window and check if you have successfully disabled the Spam Filter rule.

Creating a spam filtering rule:

Apart from the Spam Filter rule, eM Client allows you to create new rules to move the spam messages to the Junk Email folder. For detailed instructions, go through the steps below.

  • Step : 1 In the eM Client app, click the Menu tab and select Tools –> Rules.
  • Step : 2 Click the New rule tab in the Rules window.

  • Step : 3 In the Rule wizard window, select the Move messages from someone to a folder option.

  • Step : 4 Specify the keyword received and select Yes for X-Spam Status.
  • Step : 5 Choose Junk Email as the destination folder.
  • Step : 6 Once you have done specifying the rule, it will look like Move spam messages to Spam folder.
  • Step : 7 Click Next and apply the rule. Now you have learned how to enable the Em Client Spam Filter rule.
